This and That

"The Farmer's Daughter" was picked up by 52 Stitches yesterday for publication in 2010 - it is yet another tale of the rural life gone wrong.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Read It and Tweet contest so far. The deadline is today. Go here for contest details, then read this, and it will all work itself out from there.

And for my last foray into the deprecating depths of self-promotion this morning, I ask you to consider this:
It's Sand Year Two from Strange Publications, edited by Aaron Polson, and it features stories by Cate Gardner, Jamie Eyeberg, Barry Napier, others, and myself. Peruse your payment options here.

In writing news, I started The Railroad Book AGAIN the other night. This time, it's for real. I bought a big black and red notebook to write the first draft in.
Chapter One begins with a mysterious black letter in the mailbox and will hopefully end today in unanswered questions.

Oh, I'm glad you've settled back into The Railroad Book, you know I want to read that someday.

And congrats on the Stitches acceptance.

Congrats on the sale! Very nice!

Ooh oooh ooh I want a big notebook like that! It looks very important and official, like the words you write in it are also important and official. While I'm at it, I'd like your handwriting too. It's so much better than mine.

Good luck with the book! Sounds like a winner!

Congrats on the 'ceptance. Yeah, your handwriting is definitely better than mine, but I think a baboon has better penmanship than me.

Congratulations on the acceptance. That's a gorgeous notebook-- I'm such a freak about my notebooks, man. They're so inspiring.

Or I'm shallow and materialistic. But I'm okay with that.

I SOOOO want to try writing a first draft in longhand but there's no way I have the patience for it.

'Grats on the acceptance!

In that photo, your handwriting looks gorgeously Gothic and tortured. Exquisite!

Congrats on 52 Stitches! I can't wait to see the TOC and see who is in there.
