Read It and Tweet

It's contest time.

Read It and Tweet.

My new short story, "The Revival" is up today at Strangetastic.

For a full year, William hasn't thought of his life before he met Marianne. When someone comes knocking at the door of his cabin in the mountain territory, however, the memories come flooding back. He remembers quiet summer afternoons at the lake, the first time his blood was stirred by a woman, and the fiery sermons of Reverend Tom in town when he was a boy. But, things are different now. All of that was before the Fever came and took his wife from him, before the miners found the darkness in the mountain and dumped it into the lake. The Company has closed the mine - and no one goes to swim in the water anymore. The world has changed outside William's door, and whatever has changed it is coming for him next.

I want as many people to read it as possible. So....

The Rules:

1. Visit Strangetastic when you have time and read "The Revival".

2. If you enjoy it and would recommend it to friends, compose a little tweet on Twitter that tells people where they can go if they would like to read it themselves. Send it out.

3. Leave me a comment on this post letting me know that you did all this.

The Prize:

Seeing as Stephen King's Under the Dome book is coming out in a day, how about I make it a gift to one lucky winner drawn out of a hat? I'll buy it and ship it to the address you provide.

If you're not into that, then when you win, let me know of a book you've been wanting to get your hands on ($25 or less), and I'll pick up the tab.
Deadline to enter is Friday 13th.

Sounds good? Then get reading and thanks!

I hope you enjoy it!

Wow, creepy and really chilling! Excellent story. I never did trust those mining companies.

Happy to tweet, I liked that story. I'm in. Also, I'm a contest whore. But mostly because I liked the story.

I'm contest-averse, but wanted to let you know that I enjoyed your story. Gets pretty gruesome there at the end, doesn't it? :-D

I tweeted about it on Saturday as well.

Very well constructed tale. Love your pacing, love the way the madness crept in on me by the end. Totally tweeted that mother.

Oh black water, what a tale. Read and tweeted (and late to the party, of course).
